As Legal & Compliance Coordinator at HB Antwerp, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s corporate governance and compliance framework. You’ll ensure HB operates with integrity and transparency across all jurisdictions—overseeing key legal processes, corporate administration, and compliance programs, including KYC and AML activities supported by a dedicated KYC Officer.
In this role, you’ll help shape and maintain HB’s governance architecture, develop robust internal policies, and provide pragmatic legal guidance on corporate matters. Working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams, you’ll ensure HB’s decision-making aligns with legal obligations, ethical principles, and its mission to redefine the diamond industry.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all corporate compliance and governance activities, ensuring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal standards.
- Manage corporate affairs, including company registers, board documentation, shareholder records, and statutory filings.
- Develop, implement, and maintain governance policies, internal controls, and compliance frameworks.
- Provide legal guidance on corporate matters; knowledge of employment law is considered a plus.
- Liaise with external counsel, auditors, and regulatory authorities to ensure seamless communication and oversight.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments and advise leadership on their implications for the company’s operations and governance.
- Partner with the KYC Officer to ensure efficient and accurate client due diligence processes.
- Promote a strong culture of ethics, compliance, and accountability through awareness and training initiatives.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a corporate governance, legal, or compliance role.
- Strong understanding of corporate law, KYC/AML regulations, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Proven experience in corporate administration, board support, or company secretarial functions.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement governance and compliance systems.
- Experience or working knowledge of employment law is a strong plus.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- High ethical standards, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
